Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don't press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

Step 1: Start by drawing a circle at the top of the paper as a guide for Mickey Mouse's head. First make four small marks to determine the circle's height and width. Then connect the marks using curved lines. Sketch lightly at first so that it's easy to erase if you make a mistake. If you're struggling to draw the circle, just trace the outer rim of a small, circular object like a coin or a bottle cap.

Step 2: Draw a curved, horizontal line across the head as a guide to help you place Mickey Mouse's facial features later. On the top, left, draw a short, curved, vertical line for another guide.

Step 3: On the left side of the head, draw a small oval as a guide for the muzzle. Half of this oval should be inside the head, and the other half should be outside. Use the lines inside as guides for placement. Pay attention to the size of this oval in relation to Christmas Mickey's head.

Step 4: Starting on the top, left side of the head, draw a line that slopes to the top, right for the first part of Mickey Mouse's hat. Continue to draw the line along the right side of the head and angle it upward at the bottom, right side.

Step 5: Below the head, draw another circle as a guide for Mickey's body. Use the four-marks method to draw this circle too. Draw this circle slightly off to the left. This circle should be a bit smaller than the head. The edges of the two circles should almost touch.

Step 6: Inside the body, along the top edge, draw a smaller circle as a guide for the first hand. Make this circle slightly wider than it is tall. It should take up a big section inside the body circle. Draw a line that starts at the right side of the hand and then angles up to the head as a guide for Mickey Mouse's arm.

Step 8: On the lower, right side of the body, draw a line that slopes to the right as a guide for the first leg. Under the line, draw a big oval on its side as a guide for Mickey Mouse's first foot. Sketch lightly at first to get the shape right. Notice how big this oval is in relation to this Walt Disney character's body.

Step 10: Inside the head, near the left side, draw two thin ovals for Christmas Mickey's eyes. Draw the eyes on top of the horizontal guide line and on either side of the vertical guide line. The eye on the left should be a bit smaller. Don't overlap the guide for the muzzle as you draw this Disney cartoon character's eye. Inside each eye, on the lower, right side, draw a small oval for the pupils. The pupil on the left should be smaller. Shade in the ovals and don't overlap the guide for the muzzle.

Step 11: On top of the guide for the muzzle, lightly sketch a small oval for the nose. Make the bottom of the oval a bit thinner than the top. When you get the shape right, darken the lines. Tilt Mickey Mouse's nose to the left a bit. There should be a narrow gap between the nose and the head. Darken the top edge of the initial guide for the first part of the muzzle. Darken the bottom of the guide but continue to draw the line farther to the right and inside the head. Curve the line up toward the horizontal line for the mouth. Add a shorter line at the top for a smile line.

Step 12: Under the previous curved line, draw a narrower, U-shaped line for Christmas Mickey's open mouth. The bottom of the mouth should be close to the bottom edge of the initial circle. Make the top of the mouth wide. Add a curved line below the mouth for the lower lip. Inside the mouth, draw two short, curved lines for the tongue.

Step 13: Inside the head, lightly sketch a long, curved line across the top, right side for the bottom of Christmas Mickey's Santa hat. When you get the position right, darken the line using shorter, curved lines for the hat's fluff. Pay attention to the distance between the bottom of the hat and Mickey's eyes. Draw the sides of the fluffy hat using a series of short, curved lines at either end. Lightly sketch another long, curved line at the top for the rest of the hat's base. When you get the position right, darken the line using short, angled lines for the fluffy texture.

Step 14: Darken the visible edges of the initial circle to create the rest of Mickey Mouse's head. Draw the lower, right side of the head slightly higher than the original circle. Draw a curved line over the right side of the smile for the color separation on the head. Use the horizontal line as a guide. Draw a vertical line that curves toward Christmas Mickey's Santa hat for more of the separation. Above the eyes, draw a small V-shaped line for the visible part of the widow's peak like section.

Step 15: Use the initial line at the top as a guide to draw the rest of Christmas Mickey's Santa hat. Darken the guide to create the top of the hat but don't overlap the fluffy base at the bottom. Lightly sketch a small circle around the bottom tip of the Santa hat for the pom pom. When you get the shape right, darken the pom pom using curved and angled lines for a fluffy texture.

Step 16: At the very top of the Santa hat, draw a curved line for the part of Mickey Mouse's ear that's peeking from behind. The line should be similar to a half-oval. Sketch lightly at first to get the shape right. On the right side of the hat, draw another half-oval-like shape for the visible part of Mickey's other ear.

Step 17: Use the small circle inside the body as a guide to draw Christmas Mickey's first hand. To create the hand, first darken the edge of the circle except for the left side. Along the left edge of the circle, draw the shorter, curved lines for the folded fingers. Inside the shape, draw three short lines for the detail on Mickey's gloves.

Step 19: Under the hand, draw a couple of lines for the top part of Christmas Mickey's Santa bag. Add a couple of ovals at the bottom for the bag's opening and a line for a crease. To the left of the hand, draw a small rectangle for the belt on the coat. Keep the belt inside the body. Inside the shape, draw Mickey Mouse's belt buckle using a series of short lines.

Step 20: Use the initial circle in the middle as a guide to draw Mickey Mouse's Santa coat. Draw a vertical line that's made up of short strokes across the left side of the initial circle for the coat's opening. Don't overlap the belt as you draw the strokes. At the bottom, below the bag, curve the line to the right. Add more strokes along the bottom of the arm for more of the coat's fuzzy trim. On the left side, draw more short strokes to finish Christmas Mickey's Santa coat and the fuzzy trim.

Step 21: To the left of the belt, draw a small, rectangular shape for the other fuzzy sleeve cuff on Christmas Mickey's Santa coat. Darken the guide at the top for the arm. Extend the line for the arm farther to the left than the guide. Darken the curved line at the bottom for the other hand. On the bottom, left, draw a small, curved line for a finger.

Step 22: On the top, left side of the oval on the right, draw curved line for the first part of the Santa pants. Use short strokes to draw the line. Above it, draw a shorter, curved line for more of the pant cuff. Add lines on the sides to close off the shape and create a fuzzy, rectangular shape for the cuff. Add a couple of sloping lines on either side of the initial guide for the rest of the pant leg. Darken the oval at the bottom to create the shape of Mickey Mouse's shoe. Add a curved, horizontal line inside the shape for a crease on the shoe.

Step 23: Use the initial line and oval on the left to draw Mickey Mouse's other leg the same way. Draw a fuzzy rectangle for the cuff and darken the line for the pant leg. Darken the oval for the shoe and add a crease inside.

Step 24: To the right of the body, lightly sketch a long, curved line for Christmas Mickey's bag of presents. When you get the shape of the bag right, darken the line. You can make the bag bigger if you'd like. Below the bag, draw a long, curved line for this Disney character's mouse tail.

Step 25: Go over the final sketch lines with a pen, marker or any other type of permanent ink. Take your time and be careful when you ink your drawing to avoid any accidents. After the ink dries, get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser for a cleaner drawing of Christmas Mickey.

Final Step: Color your Mickey Mouse drawing using colored pencils, markers or crayons! Use black for the ears, the top of the head, the nose and the belt. Leave a small circle on Mickey's nose blank for shine. Use red for the Santa hat, the coat and the pants but leave the fuzzy trim blank because that's white. Use peach for the face, brown for the inside of the mouth and pink for the tongue. Color the buckle yellow and the Christmas gift bag light brown. Use yellow-orange for Mickey's shoes. Don't forget to pause the video to draw at your own pace.
